ECO-FRIENDLY APPROACH

Being an eco-conscious business, we are responsible for a sustainable production process from sourcing raw materials, to manufacturing the final product - engineered oak flooring. For us, it’s important that we share the same mindset of our manufacturer, UAB Ecowood, when it comes to the production of our wooden flooring in an eco-friendly manner. Our wood flooring is a natural product that is also known for its durability and longevity. This benefits the environment as opposed to cheap floors that require replacing after a few years.

RESPONSIBLE FORESTRY

We are FSC® certified (FSC® C007915) and we are proud to purchase our raw materials from European forests that meet the highest standards of responsible forest management. Although it takes over 100 years for an oak tree to fully mature, oak is a common type of hardwood with over 600 different species and is widely used in the floor manufacturing business. Using the more common species of oak allows us to preserve the rarer species, enabling them to thrive.

SUSTAINABILITY & NON TOXIC MATERIALS

Our factory uses sustainable sources of energy, including solar panels, in order to engineer hardwood flooring to perfection during the production phase. To bond plank layers together, we use eco-friendly PU glue without formaldehydes. Later in the process, we use water based SAICOS stains and oils to achieve the finished product. SAICOS is a reputable and trusted German company that also provides its products to children’s toy manufacturers. Nothing goes to waste – all leftover cuts and sawdust shavings are recycled into charcoal briquettes.

Every year our manufacturer hosts an oak planting event which has become a much anticipated tradition for the Lithuanian community. This way we show respect to the valuable resource that oak is.

ECO AND STYLISH OPTIONS

Once the production is finalised and passes quality control measures in the factory, it is ready to be distributed across the UK.

Our company offers endless options of sustainable flooring which is available in different styles. Classic long planks, modern parquet blocks, such as herringbone and chevron are all popular choices. In addition to this, our customers can choose their oak floors from a variety of finishes, grades and dimensions. Not only is ours an ecological flooring option, it is a stylish one too.

THE POWER OF OAK

The oak tree is one of the most loved trees in the world, and with good reason. It is a symbol of strength, morale, resistance and knowledge. Oak is renowned for its healing properties in the field of natural medicine which date back for centuries. Modern scientific research confirms that oak possesses healing properties which include acting as an astringent, reduces fevers, muscular tonic, antiseptic, anti-viral, anti-tumour, and anti-inflammatory. It was also believed that burning oak wood in the fireplace takes illnesses away. Having oak flooring in any dwelling will make it look and feel more inviting and homely. During cold winter months, hardwood floors will boost warmth while maintaining coolness during hot summers.

We chose Ecohardwood having seen their engineered oak floors (Tobacco) in a friend's house. We found Irmantas a pleasure to deal with. We love the look and finish of the product and chose it in part because it works well with our underfloor heating. There were a few spillages by our builders but the Ecohardwood team have been very helpful in helping our builders to remedy these mistakes. Irmantas has remained very reassuring and calm! We fully recommend the product having lived in our house now for a few months. If I did it again I might use Ecohardwood to do the installation.

We recently purchased Ecohardwood engineered oak wood flooring in the Tobacco colour and we couldn’t be happier. The quality is excellent – well made, with a beautiful natural finish. We installed it throughout the whole house and it has completely changed the look and feel of the space, giving it a warm, modern and very natural feel. We did apply a premium hardwax oil, which enhanced the tone and added extra protection.
